Every Indian meal is always accompanied by a salad. This Indian styled salad is a combination of tomato, cucumber and onion with Indian spices. It is a refreshing accompaniment to most Indian meals. It is tasty as well as nutritious and especially all kids will enjoy it.

Ingredients
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cucumber diced with the skin on
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- Juice of 1 lemon along with zest
- Sugar for sprinkling
- Salt to taste
- Few sprigs of cilantro for garnish
Method
Slice the onion very thinly, and soak in salted water for about 10 mins.
Once soft, drain out the water totally and place in a bowl.
Add salt, cumin powder, lemon juice, and sugar.
Add the chopped tomatoes, and cucumber as well as the cilantro.
Mix it up and serve with your favorite Indian meal.
Tip: try it on some toast, it tastes great!!
