Kara Kulambu Recipe - South Indian Curry Recipe made with Veggies cooked in Authentic gravy made with coconut and Tamarind Juice and spiced flavours . Kara Kulamu Comes once a week in our Menu . This Kara Kulambu can be made with the Veggies of your Choice , I tried Kara Kulambu with Brinjal and Drumsticks . So now off to Today's Post Kara Kulambu Recipe .
KARA KULAMBU ( KUZHAMBU ) RECIPE

Ingredients:
- Oil - 1 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Cuminseeds - 1 teaspoon
- Onion - 1 number , Chopped
- Tomato - 1 number , Chopped
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Any Vegetables - Chopped ( I used Brinjal and Drumsticks )
- Tamarind juice - 1/2 Cup juice Extracted from Tamarind pulp .
- Salt - To Taste
- To Grind :
- Grated Coconut - 1/4 Cup
- Onion - 1 /2 onion , Diced
- Fennel Seeds - 1 teaspoon
KARA KULAMBU ( KUZHAMBU ) RECIPE
Method :
Take the grated Coconut , Onion and fennel seeds in a blender . Grind in to a paste by adding little water . Set aside .
Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan ,add the mustard seeds and allow it to crackle , Now add the Cumin seeds and fry . Add the onion , tomatoes and cook till they become soft . Add the Turmeric powder , salt and Curry powder . .( If you don't have curry powder Red chilli powder and coriander
powder could be used in the ratio 1: 1 ie 1/2 tablespoon Red chilli
powder and 1/2 tablespoon of coriander powder .)
Now throw the Veggies that you are using . Mix them
Add the ground contents from the mixer . Mix well .
Add the Tamarind juice and bring the contents to a boil .
Cook till the oil seperates out from the curry .
