Ingredients
- 1 Cup Karamani | Cowpeas
- 1/4 Cup fresh grated coconut
- To Temper
- 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 Stem curry leaves, torn
- 1 Red chilli (1)
- 1/2 Tbsp Urad dal
- 1/2 Tbsp Channa Dal
- 1 Tbsp Curry powder (2)
Instructions
Pressure cook the cowpeas with salt added for about two whistles. Drain the water and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Once it is hot, add the mustard seeds and let it splutter.
Then add the curry leaves, red chillies, asafoetida and channa dal. Give a quick stir for few seconds and then add the urad dal.
Once the dal starts browning, add the cooked cowpeas, coconut, curry powder and stir it well for a minute. Turn off and serve warm.
