Ingredientes

  • 2 c. Long grain rice
  • 3 Tbsp. Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 med Onion, finely minced
  • 1 x Clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp Fresh ginger, finely Grated
  • 6 whl cloves
  • 250 gm Chopped lamb or possibly beef
  • 2 c. Green peas
  • 4 c. Warm water
  • 3 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Garam masala

Direcciones

  1. Wash rice and leave to drain.
  2. Heat ghee in a large saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Fry the cumin with the onion, garlic, ginger and cloves till onion is soft and golden.
  3. Add in the mince and fry over moderately high heat till the mince is browned.
  4. Add in peas and half c. water, stir well, cover and cook till peas are half done.
  5. Add in rice and warm water and stir in the salt.
  6. Bring quickly to the boil, cover, turn heat very low and cook for 10 min.
  7. Uncover and sprinkle with garam masala but don't stir. Replace lid and continue cooking for a further 10 min or possibly till liquid is all absorbed and rice is cooked through. Serve warm.
