- Wash rice and leave to drain.
- Heat ghee in a large saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Fry the cumin with the onion, garlic, ginger and cloves till onion is soft and golden.
- Add in the mince and fry over moderately high heat till the mince is browned.
- Add in peas and half c. water, stir well, cover and cook till peas are half done.
- Add in rice and warm water and stir in the salt.
- Bring quickly to the boil, cover, turn heat very low and cook for 10 min.
- Uncover and sprinkle with garam masala but don't stir. Replace lid and continue cooking for a further 10 min or possibly till liquid is all absorbed and rice is cooked through. Serve warm.
