Receta Khatta Meetha Chatpata Chole
Sharing with you a tongue tickling recipe which gives you a mixed taste... sweet, sour, spicy to make it an aromatic accompaniment :p
Olive oil is used in this recipe. You can use any oil of your choice.
For children you decide the use of chillies as preferred.
This dish can be had as a chole chat separately in a bowl and relish.
Goes well with puris (fried indian wheat bread) and chapathis (Indian wheat bread)
Ingredientes
- Kabuli Chana (chickpea) - 1 cup
- mint leaves - 1 handful
- Coriander leaves - 1 handful
- Tamarind - 1/2 lemon size
- Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
- Red Chilli powder - less than 1/4 tsp
- Chat masala - 1/2 tsp
- Bay leaf - 1 no.
- Cinnamon stick - 1/2"
- Salt to taste
- Onion - 2 nos. (medium)
- Garlic - 2 pods (medium)
- Ginger - 1" piece
- Green chilli - 2 nos.
- Pepper corns - 5 nos.
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Olive oil - 2 tbsp
Direcciones
- Soak chickpea for 6 hours or overnight. Pressure cook till tender after adding salt.
- Soak tamarind in hot water for 15 min.
- One onion to be sliced thinly (lengthy pieces) and one onion to be grated
- Ginger - cut into two halves. One half chope finely. Other half keep aside.
- Finely chop the garlic pods
- In a mixer, add the mint & coriander leaves, ginger, cinnamon, green chillies, Coriander seeds, peppercorns, soaked tamarind, sugar, 1 tbsp cooked chickpea and grind to paste.
- Heat olive oil, add bay leaf. When it turns golden in colour add the sliced onions and saute till they become pink.
- Now add the grated onion, chopped ginger and garlic and fry for 30 seconds on medium flame.
- now Add cooked chick peas, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, chat masala powder and bring to boil and lower the flame. Cover and let it boil for 2 minutes.
- Now add the ground paste and let it boil for a minute.
- Adjust the seasoning (salt, sugar)
- Remove from fire.
- Mouthwatering chatpata khatta meetha chole is ready!
- This can be had as a "chole chat" separately and goes well with puris, chapathis.
