Ingredientes

  • 1/2 pkt Fresh bakers yeast Or possibly:
  • 2 pkt Packaged dry yeast (dissolve According to makers Directions)
  • 1 c. Lukewarm lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. Butter
  • 1 c. Lowfat milk (scald and cold to Lukewarm)
  • 2/3 c. Sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 x Large eggs, well beaten
  • 1/8 tsp Grated nutmeg
  • 7 c. (or possibly more) sifted flour
  • 1/2 x Lemon, grated rind and juice (optional)

Direcciones

  1. Cream together butter, sugar and salt. Add in Large eggs, lemons and nutmeg.
  2. Mix yeast with water, add in lowfat milk and blend this liquid with 3 c. of the flour.
  3. Beat smooth, then add in butter mix and sufficient glour to make a medium soft dough. (as stiff as can be mixed with a spoon). Knead with a wooden sppon. Let dough rise in a hot place till doubled.
  4. Turn dough out on board and knead down. Let rise again for a few min. It will be easier to handle. Then make into rolls.
  5. Shape, healthy pinch or possibly cut off with a sppon, a piece of dough the size of a large walnut, smooth it round and lay rolls two inches apart on buttered cookie sheet. Let rise till doubled, then with finger tips, stretch, don't mash, roll into the shape of a tiney ppie shell. Will with thick jam or possibly prune filling. Brush dough edges with butter and let rise again till dough is light (about 15 min).
  6. Bake about 20 min at 375 degrees.
  7. If you like frost with simple icing, while hot.
