Receta Krispie Nutella Peanut Butter Treats...
I discovered a leak under my kitchen sink three days ago...pulled everything out, wiped up the mess, pulled up the piece of linoleum that lined the bottom of the cupboard and then noticed that the sub-floor was soaked as well. I informed the mister. He said he would "have a look at it" when he got home. I refreshed the mister's memory about the last time he "had a look" at a plumbing problem...to the tune of $475 just to repair what HE had done...the mister did not appreciate my spot-on-reenactment of him writhing in pain under the sink...but I was brilliant. Every day for the last three days the mister has "looked" under the sink...while everything that used to be held there sits around on the kitchen floor. Every day he tells me he can fix it. Yet he's done nothing. The leak appears to have stopped on it's own...that was his news this morning. Therefore, no need to do anything further. All is well. I can put everything back. WHAT?!?! The leak that soaked a piece of 3/4-inch plywood and caused mildew to grow up the back wall of the cupboard and filled a bin with a half-cup of water? That leak?? You fixed it by looking at it?!? The mister might be able to stop traffic with his face but he cannot stop a leak just by looking at it! I shall now call the plumber...and my doctor to get a refill for PROZAC!
Everyone loves Rice Krispie treats, am I right? But here's a new twist to the old favorite...Nutella is layered between all of that marshmallowy-kirspie goodness and then on top as it holds on the roasted, salted peanuts...crunchy, chewy, delicious fun...bet you can't eat just one!
- Krispie Nutella Peanut Butter Treats - Adapted From The Rice Krispie Cereal Box
- 3 tablespoons butter, plus more for baking dish and wooden spoon
- 4 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal or other puffed-rice cereal
- 1 jar (6 oz.) Nutella
- 1/2 cup chopped, roasted, salted peanuts
Butter an 8-inch square baking dish. In a large pot, combine marshmallows, peanut butter, butter and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until melted, about 4 minutes. Add cereal and stir to combine. With a wooden spoon, greased with butter, press half of the cereal mixture into dish. Spread on half of the Nutella. Repeat with remaining cereal mixture and remaining Nutella. Sprinkle top with peanuts. Cut into bars, 2-inches by 1-inch. Makes 24 bars.
