Kway Teow Goreng (fried flat rice noodles)

This is another favourite Malaysian noodles that is enjoyed for breakfast or dinner/supper. These flat rice noodles usually comes in two sizes; thicker or thinly sliced. I used the thinly sliced ones that are dried and sold in packets.

  1. Pre-soak the noodles in water (for about 45 minutes or until the noodles are soft).
  2. Heat a hot wok and add in oil. Then stir in the pounded items till light brown and add in the prawns.
  3. Add in the paste and sauce, saute for 2 or 3 minutes, some salt then water. Let it simmer for 5 minutes then add in the noodles.
  4. Make sure the noodles coat well with the sauces. Make a well and break one egg, scramble it with the noodles.
