Receta L.T. (Leftover Turkey) B.L.T
This past weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving and after a couple big family dinners I was feeling more stuffed than the butterball turkey we ate.
I managed to score some leftovers from both dinners...awesome...and yesterday I made a dent in the leftover turkey and stuffing by adding it my absolute favorite sandwich - the good old Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato!
My bet is cranberry sauce would have made this sandwich ridiculously good but I didn't have any so you're getting the crazy good version!
Here’s the leftover turkey and stuffing I scored from one Thanksgiving dinner. Not a bad haul = )
Cook Bacon with Less Effort!
As far as I know, there's no such thing as leftover bacon. Instead of cooking it in a skillet, I prefer to broil it in the oven on a baking sheet lined with foil. It crisps the bacon perfectly and makes clean-up easy! Here are the steps:
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil
Evenly place bacon slices on top of foil keeping some space between them
Set the oven to broil
Cook bacon for about 4 to 5 minutes per side until crisp. When you flip the bacon, drain the fat.
For cleanup...remove the foil from baking sheet and wipe the sheet clean.
Once the bacon is cooked, it's time for the fun part...building your L.T. B.L.T!!!
The stuffing works perfect as a base layer to hold the turkey and bacon in
place on the bun. The mayo helps keep the lettuce, tomato and sliced
red onion in check on the opposite half.
If you have leftover dinner rolls, the L.T B.L.T. gives
you the perfect opportunity to use them up!
