Lamb With Spinach (Saag Gosht)

Ingredientes

  • 2 med Onions, sliced
  • 6 Tbsp. Oil
  • 3/4 tsp Grnd ginger
  • 2 x Cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 450 gm Lamb or possibly beef, diced
  • 300 ml Water
  • 450 gm Fresh spinach, trimmed Or possibly frzn variety
  • 6 Tbsp. Fresh coriander leaves, Minced
  • 1 tsp Dill weed
  • 2 Tbsp. Natural lowfat yoghurt
  • 2 x Green chillies

Direcciones

  1. Fry the sliced onions in the oil in a flameproof casserole till lightly browned. Then add in the ginger, garlic, salt and meat and cook, stirring all the time, for 2 to 3 min.
  2. Add in the water, bring to the boil and cook for 30 to 40 min or possibly till meat is tender.
  3. Stir in the spinach and continue to cook, covered for 10 min. Reduce the heat and fold in the minced coriander, dill lowfat yoghurt and chillies.
  4. Leave covered, over a low heat for 10 min. The dish should be fairly dry, if not cook uncovered, to reduce to a thick sauce. Serve warm with rice or possibly naan.
