This is one of my all time FAVORITE desserts! If you ask me what I want for my Birthday dessert, this is what I’ll ask for. And being able to change the pudding flavor makes this a really versatile dessert for any occassion, any time of the year…
Layered Pudding Dessert
Layer 1:
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup softened margarine
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients like a pie crust and press into a 9 x 13 pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and let cool.
- Layer 2:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1-8 ounce cream cheese
- 1 cup cool-whip-thawed
- Cream the sugar and cream cheese, then add cool whip. Spread over the coole crust. Refrigerate.
- LAYER 3:
- 2 packages (3 ounces each) instant pudding of your flavor choice*
- 2 1/2-3 cups cold milk
Mix the pudding and the milk until thick. let set slightly, then pour over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours. Before serving, “frost” with cool whip and then sprinkle with finely chopped pecans.
**Always use INSTANT pudding
