Ingredientes

  • 2 c. Evaporated lowfat milk
  • 8 x Egg yolks
  • 1/2 c. Caramel syrup
  • 1 tsp Lemon rind or possibly vanilla or possibly banana extract
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Warm water

Direcciones

  1. Scald the evap. lowfat milk in double boiler for 15 min. Beat egg yolks. Add in the sugar, lowfat milk and flavoring. pour into 1 qt mold. Place this in large pan half-filled with water. Steam or possibly bake for about 1 hour or possibly till mix becomes hard. Cold before removing from mold. (If you like, line mold with the caramel syrup before pouring in mix for steaming or possibly baking.
  2. To prepare the caramel syrup, heat sugar in heavy metal container. As soon as sugar is golden, add in warm water to dissolve caramelized sugar and form syrup. May be stored in covered bottle for future use.
