Receta Lemon Glazed Swirl Cake & Catching Fireflies Giveaway
Today we are going to have some cake. Want to know why? Because it’s the week of my birth, so calories don’t count and I like cake.
Enough said right?
I made this amazing, super lemony cake for guests one night. Those guests included a foreign exchange student that graduated high school with me who came back to the big state of Minnesota to see us. I haven’t seen her in 10 years and wow it was so much fun. When she was leaving I gave her a hug and promptly asked when she would be moving to the States so we could see each other more frequently. She may have giggle at me. Worth a shot right? A girl can dream!
This cake takes a lemon cake mix and tub of lemon frosting, incorporates a lemon glaze and some “fancy” frosting technique then looks like you spent hours in the kitchen. Don’t worry I won’t tell them you didn’t! It’s refreshing and perfect for a summer treat!
Since it’s my birthday week I thought we’d do a fun giveaway to start out the week too. I teamed up with Catching Fireflies for an awesome giveaway. They are going to give you a $43 gift certificate to their online store. They do have a store in Michigan if you live in that area. I would LOVE to go visit that store. They offer all kinds of fun, cute and quirky gifts including creative gifts, unique kitchen gadgets, inspirational home decor, fun guy gifts, cute office accessories. When I was browsing the online store I couldn’t figure out what to get.
I finally decided on Mocha Handwarmer Mug. There is nothing I like to do more on a weekend mornings than curl up with my coffee, let Miss K play and relax a bit. It doesn’t happen enough as far as I’m concerned though!
Check out that KitchenAid wall clock. Super cute! Wish I had the wall space for it in my kitchen. Unfortunately I stuffed way to many cabinets in my kitchen to have any room to decorate. Priorities I guess!
I try to keep it real on this blog of mine. That sign would be perfect for my house. I might have a few sticky floors, a dirty oven but Miss K seems to be pretty happy!
They are also offering a discount at Catching Fireflies when you use coupon code: TREATS for 20% off their purchase which expires 7/24/13!
Make sure you don’t miss any of the fun stuff Julie’s Eats & Treats is up too!
