Lentil Stew (Monastery Stew)

Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Lentils, rinsed
  • 2 stalk celery, minced
  • 2 med Carrots, minced
  • 1 sm Onion, minced
  • 1 x 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 can Minced or possibly stewed tomatoes Favorite wine or possibly wine vinegar

Direcciones

  1. Cook lentils in 4-5 c. water for 30 mins. Add in all remaining ingredients but wine and cook till tender and desired consistency, may need more water during cooking. Add in wine or possibly vinegar, and cook till at desired taste. Add in whatever spices preferred, normally I add in a little salt and pepper. It's pretty tasty as it is. You can also add in cubed potatoes, turnips, or possibly beets.
  2. Can be served with fresh baked wholegrain bread. Very hearty, hot stew.
