Receta Lime Margarita Cupcakes
I sent my hubby to the grocery store for eggs and he came home with eggs and a box of Pillsbury Key Lime Cake Mix and a container of Key Lime Frosting~
Pillsbury has come out with several different cake and cookie mixes for summertime fun, such as: Key Lime, Pink Lemonade, Orangesicle Orange Creme, and Blue Raspberry. There are also frosting flavors to match.
Key Lime Cake Mix and Frosting~
I decided to add some key lime juice and fresh grated lime zest to the Key Lime cake batter. I thought the cupcakes tasted just like a Lime Margarita! The cupcakes were delicious, with a light lime flavor and had a refreshing taste. The perfect cupcake on a hot summer day~
Decorate cupcakes with white sugar, white decorator sugar crystals, thinly sliced lime slices and umbrellas. The perfect cupcake on a hot summer evening~ Enjoy!
- 1 pkg. moist Supreme Key Lime Flavored Premium Cake Mix
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup Key West Lime Juice
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 t. grated lime zest
- 3 large eggs
- 1 (16 oz) container Pillsbury Creamy Supreme Key Lime Flavored Frosting
- Decorate with:
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- white decorator sugar crystals
- thin lime slices
- umbrellas
- *I made these cupcakes for my Grandson and he wanted cow shaped sprinkles....What's a Grandma to do:)
- Heat oven to 350
- Line 24 muffin cups with paper baking cups
Prepare cake mix according to package directions using water, lime juice, oil, lime zest and eggs.
Divide batter evenly into paper baking cups.
Bake 18-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Remove to wire rack and cool completely.
Frost and decroate cupcakes: Frost cupcakes with Pillsbury Lime Frosting. Roll edges immediately in assorted sprinkles or sugar crystals. Garnish with thin lime slices and umbrellas.
