Receta Luscious Fillings
I found these yummy fillings in an old recipe booklet that was my mom's. The booklet was from the 1950's.
- Pineapple Filling~
- 6 T sugar
- 4 1/2 t cornstarch
- 1 1/2 c canned crushed pineapple
- 1 T lemon juice
- Simmer all ingredients, stirring until thick, Cool
- Date Filling~
- 2-71/2 oz pkg pitted dates
- 1/2 c sugar
- 3/4 c light brown sugar
- 1/4 c orange juice
- 1 T grated orange rind
- 1/4 t salt
- Simmer all ingredients; stirring, until thick, cool
- Mincemeat Filling
- 1/4 c sugar
- 1 T cornstarch
- 1/2 t lemon juice
- 1 1/2 cups jar or prepared packaged condensed mincemeat
- Simmer all ingredients, stirring, until thick, cool
- Cranberry Mincemeat Filling
- Cut up half medium orange in as tiny pieces as possible; mix with 1 cup canned whole cranberry sauce and 1/2 cup prepared packaged or jar mincemeat. Or grind together orange and 1 cup fresh cranberries; mix in 1/2 cup sugar, then mincemeat. Cook until thick. Cool
- Prune Filling
- Over low heat, stirring until thick, 3 cups cut, pitted, prunes and 3/4 c sugar. Add 1 t vanilla extract. Cool
- Raisin Filling
- 1 1/2 c seedless raisins
- 1/3 c water
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1 T cornstarch
- pinch salt
- 1 T lemon juice
Simmer all ingredients, stirring until thick. Cool
