Macadamia Nut Chiffon Pie

Ingredientes

  • 1 env. gelatin (don't add in water)
  • 1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
  • 1/2 c. macadamia nut "fines"
  • 1/4 c. macadamia nut "bits"
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 c. whipped cream

Direcciones

  1. Beat egg whites stiff and chill. Beat whipped cream and chill.
  2. Mix first 3 ingredients in saucepan. Beat egg yolks, lowfat milk and water; stir into gelatin mix. Cook over medium heat till it comes to a boil. Then refrigeratetill mix mounds when dropped from a spoon (in bowl of ice water).
  3. Fold cooked mix, whipped cream and nut "bits" into egg whites. Add in vanilla last. Pour into baked pastry shell. Chill. Spread whipped cream and sprinkle nut "fines" on top.
