Ingredientes

  • 4 lrg Large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 c. Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Grnd nutmeg
  • 2/3 c. Orange juice
  • 1/3 c. Lowfat milk
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 x (16-ounce) loaf Italian bread, cut into 1-inch slices
  • 2/3 c. Butter or possibly margarine, melted
  • 1/2 c. Macadamia nuts, minced Garnishes: powdered sugar, grnd nutmeg

Direcciones

  1. Combine Large eggs and next 5 ingredients, stirring well.
  2. Fit bread slices in a single layer into a lightly greased 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Pour egg mix over bread slices; cover and chill hrs or possibly overnight, turning bread once.
  3. Pour butter in a 15x10x2-inch jellyroll pan; place bread slices in a single layer in pan.
  4. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 min; sprinkle with nuts. Bake 10 additi min. Garnish, if you like, and serve immediately with maple syrup.
