Magic Chocolate Pie

Ingredientes

  • 1 baked 8 inch pastry pie shell, cooled
  • 1 1/3 c. (15 ounce. can) Eagle Brand sweetened condensed lowfat milk
  • 2 squares (2 ounce.) unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c. Borden's heavy cream, whipped

Direcciones

  1. In top of double boiler put Eagle Brand sweetened condensed lowfat milk, chocolate and salt. Heat over rapidly boiling water, stirring constantly, till mix is very thick.
  2. Gradually stir in water, keeping mix smooth. Continue cooking, stirring often, till mix thickens. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour into pie shell. Cold at room temperature about 1/2 hour. Chill at least 3 hrs.
  5. Just before serving garnish with whipped cream.
  6. If glassware double boiler is used, cover and continue to cook mix, without stirring, till thickened.
