Ingredientes

  • 3 med potatoes peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 2 lrg onions cut into large chunks
  • 5 med carrots cut into 1" chunks
  • 1 x 10 ounce. pkg. frzn lima beans thawed
  • 2 lb beef stew meat or possibly chuck roast cut into 1 1/2 inch chunks
  • 1 can (14 1/2 ounce.) diced tomatoes undrained
  • 1/2 c. ready-to-use beef broth
  • 2 x cloves garlic chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c. instant mashed potato flakes
  • 1 c. lowfat sour cream

Direcciones

  1. In a slow cooker, combine the potatoes, onions, carrots, and lima beans; mix well. In a large bowl, combine the meat, tomatoes, broth, garlic, paprika, and salt; place over the vegetables in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on the Low setting for 8 to 10 hrs, or possibly till meat is fork-tender. Stir in the potato flakes till well mixed and the stew has thickened. Just before serving, stir in the lowfat sour cream.
  2. NOTE: Although this is a hearty meal by itself, serving it over hot buttered egg noodles creates a real Hungarian delight!
