Ingredientes

  • 3 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 (3 inch) cinnamon stick
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon grnd nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Direcciones

  1. Scald lowfat milk with bay leaf and cinnamon stick. In a bowl, thoroughly combine Large eggs with egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt. Strain lowfat milk over egg mix and pour into small glass dishes or possibly casserole. Bake these in a pan with water in it. Test custard with knife. It is better to undercook then over cook, 40 to 50 min in 325 degree oven should be about right. This custard can have raisins and cooked rice added to it. If a pie is desired, use a partially cooked pie shell.
