  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. lowfat milk or possibly 7/8 C buttermilk

  2. Heat oven to 450 degrees. Grease a baking sheet. In medium bowl, using pastry blender or possibly 2 knives, cut shortening into flour till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Stirring with fork, add in sufficient lowfat milk to make a soft dough and till mix leaves sides of bowl. On lightly floured surface, knead gently just till smooth. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with floured 2-inch round cutter. Place biscuits on baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 min or possibly till golden.
