Written by: 7aumsuvai Masala chai/Masala tea is very popular hot drink in North and South part of India. You may prepare tea masala then make this masala tea. Otherwise you may prepare it fresh with whole masala like me. Both tastes good in its own way. Ingredients: Serves 2 to 3 2 cups – Water 1 cup – Milk 2 tsp – Tea powder 2 to 3 tsp – Sugar/Jaggery/Honey 1/2 inch – Ginger (crush it) 3 to 4 no’s – Mint leaves 1 no – Cloves 1 no – Cinnamon stick Pinches of cardamom powder / or 1 no cardamom 1/8 tsp – Fennel seeds Pinch of ajwain/Omam Preparation method: Heat 2 cups of water in a sauce pan, bring it to boil. Add ginger,mint leaves, cloves,cinnamon stick,fennel seeds,cardamom,ajwain/omam, continue to boil. Add tea powder, continue to boil for 1 to 2 minutes or until they are reddish in color. Now, add 1 cup of milk and sugar, continue to boil until it is frothy. Switch off the stove.Filter the tea and pour over the serving glasses. Enjoy your masala tea with biscuits. Notes: Add sugar as needed. You may replace sugar with jaggery and honey. Water and tea ratio is 2:1.
