Masoor Dahl Soup (Lentil Soup)

Ingredientes

  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 5 x Garlic cloves, minced
  • 10 x Peppercorns, black
  • 1 x Onian, small and minced
  • 3/4 c. Lentils
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 Tbsp. Lemon juice

Direcciones

  1. Boil 2 1/2 c. water in a saucepan. Add in turmeric, garlic, peppercorns, onion, lentils and 1 ts salt. Bring to a boil again. Turn heat to medium-low and simmer till lentils are cooked and most of the water had dry up (about 20 mins).
  2. Mash or possibly grind lentils completely using a little water if necessary.
  3. Return lentils to saucepan. Pour in 6 c. water and bring to a boil.
  4. Turn heat on to medium-low and simmer 10 to 15 mins.
  5. Add in lemon juce and salt to taste.
  6. This soup can be eaten as is or possibly with boiled rice.
