Mayhaw Pecan Tarts Or Pie

Ingredientes

  • 3 ounce Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 stk margarine, room temperature
  • 1 c. All-purpose flour, may be slightly more
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1 c. Mawhaw syrup or possibly melted jelly
  • 1/2 stk margarine
  • 3 x Large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 c. Pecans, minced

Direcciones

  1. For Crust: Blend cream cheese and margarine; stir in flour and mix till smooth. Form into ball. Use fingers to press 3/4 inch marble-sized portions into small muffin tins. Fill with filling and bake.
  2. Yields 48 thin pastryshells.
  3. For Filling: Mix sugar, syrup and margarine and heat on low till sugar is dissolved. Gradually add in hot mix to beaten Large eggs and vanilla.
  4. To Prepare: For tarts, put a few minced pecans in unbaked tart shells and pour mix over them till 2/3 full. Bake at 350 for about 25 min.
  5. For a pie, add in pecans last and pour into pastry shell. Bake as usual.
