Ingredientes

  • Cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. bacon drippings
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 (1 lb.) can white or possibly golden brown cream style corn
  • 1 pound grnd beef
  • 4 warm green chilies, diced
  • 1 lg. onion, minced
  • 1/2 pound shredded American process cheese

Direcciones

  1. Combine 1 c. cornmeal, salt, soda, lowfat milk, bacon drippings, Large eggs and corn in bowl; blend well. Brown grnd beef with chilies. Mix onion and cheese; set aside.
  2. Grease a 10" oven proof skillet and sprinkle bottom with cornmeal. Pour in half the cornmeal mix. Sprinkle with half the onion and cheese mix. Spread with meat mix and remaining cheese mix. Top with remaining cornmeal batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 min. Makes 6 servings.
