Ingredientes

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Karo light or possibly dark corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 c. roasted cashews, peanuts or possibly mixed nuts
  • 1 tsp margarine
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Direcciones

  1. In 1 1/2 qt microwavable bowl stir sugar and corn syrup.
  2. Microwave at High (100%) 4 min.
  3. Stir in nuts. Microwave 3 to 4 min.
  4. Stir in margarine and vanilla. Microwave 1 to 2 min.
  5. Check temperature with candy thermometer. (Don't USE CONVENTIONAL CANDY THERMOMETER IN MICROWAVE DURING COOKING.)
  6. Temperature should reach 300 degrees. If temperature is below 300 degrees microwave 1 to 2 min longer, checking temperature after each minute.
  7. Stir in baking soda till light and foamy.
  8. Pour onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Spread with spatula.
  9. Cold; break into pcs. Store in tightly covered container.
  10. Makes about 1 1/4 pounds.
