MillerCoors: Great Companions for Big Game Snacks

Pairing MillerCoors beverages with your big game snacks is sure to score a touchdown every time!
What’s football without great food? The two just seem to go together hand-in-hand. And what’s better than combining great food and the big game with equally great beverages!
Football parties are loads of fun–which is why I love doing them. I’ve done big game parties for years. I set them up buffet style so everyone can help themselves and not miss a minute of action on the television. Keep the mood totally casual; relax and have fun. Years ago my parties were so huge we’d have friends sitting on the floor, standing or sitting on others’ laps. A great time was had by all.
My advice is to keep your snacks simple but hearty, These parties should have “guy appeal,” but that doesn’t mean we gals don’t enjoy the same thing! Also, I go disposable with plates and cups for these type of parties. It keeps the cleanup to a minimum.
I’m bringing an array of outstanding MillerCoors beers and new hard sodas to my big game party to accompany some very tasty snacks I plan to have on hand.
I found everything I needed at my local Price Chopper. They made shopping for my party very easy by having everything I wanted to buy conveniently located in a display in the front end of the store, so I didn’t have to go down individual aisles.
The MillerCoors folks have introduced two flavors of hard soda, orange and ginger ale, that recently became available. It has a little less alcohol than other adult sodas and this makes it a bit easier to drink. I’ve paired the Henry’s Hard Soda ginger ale flavor with my Olé Salsa Cracker Spread (first photo in the post) since the crisp and refreshing flavor of ginger ale offsets this very creamy spread. It’s the perfect match for this!
- Olé Salsa Cracker Spread Author: Judith Hannemann Serves: 1 cup Ingredients

- Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Refrigerate until ready to use. Makes 1 cup 3.4.3177
My Mini Bacon Weenies go so well with Miller Lite® and Coors Light® since the slight bitter taste of these American lagers pair well with the slight sweetness of this appetizer. The added advantage is they both are lower in carbs and calories so friends who are watching their intake can indulge in a beer!
Mini Bacon Weenies Author: Judith Hannemann Serves: varies Ingredients
1 pkg Hillshire Farm Lit'l Wieners® ½ lb Jimmy Dean® bacon (either variety) 2 tbs brown sugar toothpicks Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with foil. Cut each strip of bacon in 3 equal pieces Wrap each wiener in bacon; secure with a toothpick Place on prepared pan; sprinkle with brown sugar Bake 15-20 minutes or until bacon is brown 3.4.3177
For the hot chili dip that’s always on my big game menu, I’m offering Blue Moon® Belgian White Ale. This is a full-bodied ale that has a hint of orange–because orange peel is part of the brewing process–delicious on it’s own, but even better with a boldly flavored food such as this dip.
Hot Chili Dip Author: Judith Hannemann Serves: 10 Ingredients
8 oz softened cream cheese 1 can Hormel® Chili without beans ½ cup chopped green onion 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F Spread cream cheese in the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate Top cream cheese with the green onion. Spread the chili on top. Top with the shredded cheese. Bake for 10 minutes, or until heated through and cheese is melted 3.4.3177
And it’s an absolute must to have a big supply of chips, crackers and pretzels at any football party. Make sure to have ample amounts because they disappear really fast! I always buy Wavy Lays® because the chip holds up to dips better than regular potato chips. And not forgetting that I have friends who don’t do beer or any alcohol, I’ve laid in a big supply of Pepsi!
If you want less time in the kitchen, Price Chopper has great deals on game day foods such as pizzas and wings.
While I bought my MillerCoors beverages at my local Price Chopper, they can also be enjoyed in the Catskill, NY area at Ambrosia Diner, The Barnwood and Freehold Country Pub.
