Ingredientes

  • 3 c. scalded lowfat milk
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
  • 1 yeast cake (or possibly 2 packages. dry) in lukewarm water
  • 12 c. flour

Direcciones

  1. Put together the scalded lowfat milk, butter, sugar, and salt; cool to lukewarm. Add in the beaten large eggs, cardamom, and yeast dissolved in water. Stir in about 12 cups of flour. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for 10 to 15 min. Let rise till double. Punch down. Let rise again to double. Form braids. Let rise till double. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 30 min. If you like, you may sprinkle the top with a cinnamon-sugar mix - other wise, after the bread cools, glaze the tops with a confectioners' sugar glaze.
