Receta Mithi Pavakkai Masala (Baby Bitter Gourd Masala)
Mithi Pavakkai Masala (Baby Bitter Gourd Masala) Recipe
Ingredients:
Mithi Pavakkai (Baby Bittergourd) – 250 gms
- Turmeric Powder – a pinch
- Jaggery – 2 tsp
- Tamarind Extract – 1/4 to 1/2 cup
- Coriander Leaves – 2 tsp
- Salt as per taste
- Onion – 1, chopped
- Tomato – 1, chopped
- Curry Leaves – few
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Grind together to a smooth paste:
- Sambar Onions – 10, peeled
- Garlic – 10 cloves, peeled
- Coriander Seeds – 1 tsp
- Ginger – 1/4 inch piece, peeled
- Coconut – 1/4 cup, grated
Dry Red Chilli Powder – 3
Method:
1. Heat the tamarind extract in a pan over medium flame.
2. Add jaggery, pavakkai and cook till 3/4th done and remove. Keep aside.
3. Heat oil in a pan.
4. Saute the onions, tomatoes and curry leaves for a minute.
5. Add the ground paste, pavakkai mixture, salt and mix well.
6. Bring to a boil and remove.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
8. Serve with rice.
