Ingredientes

  • 8 ounce Dry navy beans, uncooked
  • 1 c. Onions, minced
  • 1 x Garlic clove, finely
  • 2 c. , water
  • 1/4 c. Brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Molasses
  • 1 Tbsp. Vinegar
  • 1 sm Bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp Dry mustard
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper
  • 1/8 tsp Grnd cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Grnd nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp Grnd allspice
  • 1 can Tomato sauce, (16 ounce)

Direcciones

  1. Rinse and drain beans. Place in a large bowl with remaining ingredients, except tomato sauce. Mix well, cover and place in the refrigerator for 24 hrs.
  2. To cook:Transfer bean mix to a large oven-proof pot. Add in tomato sauce. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 45 min.
  3. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  4. Place pot in oven. Bake 4 hrs, covered. Check beans after 3 hrs and, if necessary, add in a little more water so which beans are covered. Remove and throw away bay leaf before serving.
