Mom's Turnips Au Gratin

Ingredientes

  • 1 1/2 lbs. diced fresh turnips
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 c. lowfat milk
  • Pepper
  • 1 c. cheddar cheese

Direcciones

  1. Cook turnips for 20 min with salt and sugar. Drain. In saucepan, heat butter and blend with flour. Gradually stir in lowfat milk till it thickens, stir in cheese and pepper. Put turnips in a 1 1/2 qt casserole and cover with the cheese sauce. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees till brown, approximately 30 min.
