Ingredientes

  • 1 pound pkg. green split peas
  • Water
  • 1 lg. ham bone
  • 3 med. potatoes, peeled, cut in pcs
  • 3 carrots, peeled, cut in pcs
  • 1 lg. onion, peeled, quartered
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt & pepper

Direcciones

  1. Soak peas overnight in water to cover; drain.
  2. Place peas in Dutch oven with ham bone, potatoes, carrots, onion, bay leaf, 4 qts water and salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Cook over low heat approximately 4 hrs, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove ham bone and bay leaf. Place soup in blender, blend till smooth. Taste to correct seasonings. Reheat and serve piping warm. Makes 10 servings.
