Mushroom & Bacon Sauce

A lovely sauce for your roasted beef, lamb, pork or chicken

Ingredientes

  • 90 g butter
  • 2 large onions, siced thinly
  • 125 g (1/2 pkt) bacon
  • 200g mushrooms, rinsed, dried & sliced
  • 6 tsp all-purpose flour
  • 1. tsp dried origanum
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 beef stock cube, crumbled in the water
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 3 tsp brandy
  • 1/4 cup port wine/ grape juice
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Direcciones

  1. Saute bacon and chop, transfer
  2. Saute onion slices in the same saucepan until translucent
  3. Add sliced mushrooms , bacon , cook a short while
  4. Add the rest to the saucepan and simmer 20 minutes
  5. Make a paste with the flour & a little water, adding it to the sauce , stirring until the sauce thickens
  6. Pour into a suitable container, store in refridegerator for a few weeks
