Ingredientes

  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 2 1/2 c. minced white onions
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped garlic
  • 1 c. cider vinegar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. yellow mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. crushed red chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp garlic pwdr
  • 1 tsp onion pwdr
  •     Salt to taste
  •     Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste
  • 5 lb pork shoulder cut 2" cubes

Direcciones

  1. In a saucepan heat butter and add in onions and garlic and saute/fry till translucent/soft. Add in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil, then simmer for 45 min. Braise pork in this sauce for 2 1/2 to 3 hrs till fork tender sufficient to pull with fork. Strain liquid and reserve.
  2. When the pork is cooled, pull or possibly shred the meat with fork or possibly fingers. Reheat the pork in the reserved sauce. Serve as a sandwich with coleslaw and sesame seed buns.
  3. This recipe yields 10 servings.
