PREPARATION METHOD

Wash minced meat

well in water and set aside.

Make a fine

paste of the following ingredients using a Blender

and set aside;

(Coconut paste)

1. Coconut piece - 1

2. Ginger – 1 small piece

3. Garlic pods – 1

Sprinkle some water to make the paste

Heat a pan/wok

and add oil, after it heats up add mustard seeds and let it splutter then add

the curry leaves, skinned black gram, cumin seeds, chopped onions, slit green chillies and saute well.

When the onions

turn translucent add in the red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt and

stir well.

Then add chopped

cabbage and saute for a minute.

Now add the

minced mutton, coconut paste and saute for 2 minutes on low flame.

Add water until

the mince mutton mixture gets immersed well.

Cook on low

flame until all the water evaporates and the minced mutton gets cooked well.

Remove from

flame and serve!!

TIP 1: If you want it to have a semi-gravy consistency add 1/2 cup of coconut milk after the water evaporates and boil for another 2 minutes.

TIP 2: Check if the minced mutton has got cooked well or else add some more water and cook till it turns tender and gets cooked well.

TIP 3: Chopped cabbage helps increase the quantity and also enhances the flavor of the recipe. Still if you wish you can avoid it.

Mutton Kheema masala is now ready!! Am sure you will love

this!! Goes well with Rasam rice, Dal rice (paruppu) and Sambar rice!!
