%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFirst%20things%20first.%20I%20really%20do%20not%20prefer%20to%20keep%20a%20gazillion%20different%20types%20of%20flours%20and%20starches%20around%20to%20make%20all%20the%20various%20different%20recipes%20I%20use%20day%20after%20day.%20I%20would%20MUCH%20rather%20have%20just%20one%20flour%20mix%20that%20is%20suitable%20for%20almost%20everything%20I%20make.%20With%20that%20in%20mind,%20I%20challenged%20myself%20to%20create%20a%20blend%20of%20Gluten%20Free%20flours%20and%20starches%20that%20suited%20my%20personal%20preferences.%20All%20of%20my%20recipes%20are%20developed%20to%20accommodate%20my%20favorite%20mix.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESince%20I%20use%20this%20mix%20for%20everything,%20it%20made%20sense%20to%20make%20a%20bulk%20batch,%20or%20as%20I%20like%20to%20call%20it,%20%22The%20Big%20Batch.%22%20One%20problem.........I%20am%20not%20very%20mathematical%20or%20scientific.%20The%20way%20I%20went%20about%20roughly%20mixing%20my%20favorite%20flour%20blend%20was%20lazy%20at%20best.%20I%20never%20gave%20it%20a%20second%20thought%20and%20would%20add%20two%20bags%20of%20this%20and%20one%20bag%20of%20that.%20Sometimes%20I%20would%20keep%20the%20different%20types%20of%20flour%20separate%20and%20measure%20out%20but%20that%20leaves%20odd%20leftover%20amounts%20you%20really%20can't%20do%20much%20with%20until%20you%20add%20more%20back%20in.%20I%20could%20not%20share%20my%20favorite%20blend%20with%20you%20really.%20It%20was%20not%20exact%20so%20I%20asked%20my%20husband%20for%20help.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMeet%20the%20hubs.%20Im%20sure%20that%20most%20of%20my%20readers%20do%20not%20realize%20that%20my%20husband%20studied%20physics%20in%20college.%20%20If%20you%20never%20get%20the%20chance%20to%20get%20to%20know%20him%20better,%20you%20will%20never%20realize%20that%20he%20is%20much%20brighter%20than%20he%20looks.%20%20I%20lovingly%20call%20him%20%22the%20mad%20scientist%22%20and%20his%20FB%20page%20picture%20is%20of%20Beaker%20from%20the%20Muppets.%20%20Thats%20him,%20carrot%20topped%20mad%20scientist.%20%20The%20way%20he%20goes%20about%20accomplishing%20anything%20has%20an%20experimental%20flair%20to%20it.%20%20I%20learned%20early%20on%20in%20our%20relationship%20that%20he%20had%20a%20reputation%20for%20doing%20most%20things%20with%20a%20twist%20of%20Rube%20Goldberg%20to%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWithout%20breaking%20a%20sweat%20really,%20he%20immediately%20came%20up%20with%20cups%20of%20measure%20in%20a%20spreadsheet%20form.%20Easy%20Peasy,%20right?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe%20suggested,%20though,%20that%20I%20should%20start%20weighing%20each%20flour%20and%20keep%20track%20and%20tried%20to%20explain%20to%20me%20the%20Weight%20versus%20volume%20theory.%20%20All%20flows%20over%20my%20head%20really.%20%20How%20it%20ends%20up%20is%20that%20we%20are%20mixing%20our%20Big%20Batch%20of%20flours%20and%20starches%20by%20weight.%20%20%20Most%20bags%20of%20Bob's%20Red%20Mill%20Flour's%20and%20Starches%20are%2024%20ounces%20per%20bag.%20%20Tapioca%20Starch%20comes%20in%20a%2020%20ounce%20bag%20so%20you%20will%20have%20to%20add%20a%20tad%20bit%20more%20to%20that%20portion%20to%20equal%2024%20ounces.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHow%20do%20I%20recommend%20you%20mix%20up%20your%20big%20batch%20of%20flours%20and%20starches?%20%20%20Easy.%20%20Grab%20a%20bucket%20from%20Lowe's.%20%20Wash%20it%20out%20if%20you%20must.%20%20Its%20not%20food%20quality%20bucket,%20its%20just%20mixing%20bucket.%20%20This%20one%20was%20a%20bit%20small%20for%20the%20job%20but%20it%20was%20what%20we%20had.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrab%20your%20handy%20dandy%20drill%20and%20drill%20a%20hole%20in%20the%20lid%20the%20size%20of%20the%20top%20of%20the%20paint%20mixer%20attachment.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20your%20flours%20into%20your%20bucket.%20%20I'm%20adding%204-20%20ounce%20bags%20of%20Tapioca,%203-24%20ounce%20bags%20of%20Brown%20Rice%20Flour%20and%201-24%20ounce%20bag%20of%20Potato%20Starch.%20%20Add%201%20pound%20of%20additional%20Tapioca%20Starch%20to%20equal%2024%20ounces%20per%20bag.%20%20I%20don't%20think%20it%20would%20hurt%20if%20you%20just%20added%20a%20one%20pound%20box%20of%20Corn%20Starch%20instead%20nor%20do%20I%20think%20it%20would%20be%20a%20big%20deal%20to%20just%20skip%20the%20added%20portion.%20%20There%20I%20go%20again,%20not%20being%20very%20scientific.%20%20LOL.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInsert%20your%20lid%20with%20the%20hole%20onto%20the%20shaft%20of%20your%20fresh%20and%20clean%20Paint%20Mixing%20Attachment%20facing%20downward.%20%20Insert%20the%20mixing%20blade%20into%20the%20flour%20and%20attach%20the%20lid%20tightly.%20Insert%20top%20portion%20of%20Drill%20bit%20into%20drill.%20%20Mix%20it%20up%20good.%20%20We%20let%20it%20mix%20for%20about%207%20to%2010%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVoila,%20you%20have%20a%20big%20batch%20of%20your%20favorite%20Gluten%20Free%20Blend%20and%20you%20did%20not%20have%20to%20pay%20a%20fortune%20for%20it.%20%20You%20end%20up%20with%2012%20pounds%20of%20your%20favorite%20blend.%20%20Our%20local%20Market%20has%20Bob's%20Red%20Mill%20at%20$3.25%20a%20bag%20(20%20to%2024%20oun
