- Pour off the sauerkraut juice, reserving the juice, chop it up and set aside. Saute/fry the onions in the oil or possibly butter till golden brown. Add in the liquid removed, minced sauerkaraut, cabbage, bouillon cube, and sauerkraut juice. Cook over low heat, uncovered, till the liquid evaporates, stirring often. Add in the pepper, stir and cold. Chop once or possibly twice in the processor or possibly run through a meat grinder.
- NOTE: This stuffing is also excellent in Pyrizhky or possibly crepes. Keeps well in the refrigerator.
