Receta Nawabi Aloo
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Diced Potatoes (Quarter inch diced)
- 1 Cup Finely chopped Tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 1/2 Cup Water
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- To Grind to a smooth paste
- 1/2 Tbsp Poppy seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp Cumin seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp Coriander seeds
- 1 tsp Fennel seeds
- 1 Tbsp Grated Ginger
- 2-3 no's Green chillies
- 1/2 tsp cardamom Powder
- 1 Cup sliced Onion
Instructions
Heat a Tbsp oil in a pan and add the onions once it is hot. Sauté it until it turns golden brown. Cool it. Along with the other ingredients mentioned under to grind, grind it to a smooth paste by sprinkling water if required.
Heat a Tbsp Oil in a pan and brown the potatoes on all sides. Drain it to a paper towel and keep aside.
In the same pan add another Tbsp oil and add the cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the finely chopped tomatoes and keep stirring frequently until its fully cooked.
Once it is cooked, add the paste and fry for about 3-4 minutes. Then add the potatoes, milk, water, sugar, salt and bring it to a boil. Check seasoning and adjust. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve.
