Receta No Bake Mayan Brownies
When I saw this recipe for no bake brownies in the Mother Earth Living, July/August 2014, Magazine, I was a little bit skeptical and once I tried them, I became hooked. Yes, brownies can be a super food. It’s amazing that dates, cacao and walnuts can taste like a gooey, fudgy decadent treat. You can find Mother Earth Living’s recipe right here. Or you can try my Mayan Chocolate version below. The only difference is that I added a few drops of water, cinnamon and cayenne pepper for some sweet heat. Try both versions or add your own special touch! Did I mention that they are gluten free?
No Bake Fudgie Brownies
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Cup Raw Walnuts
- 1 Cup of packed soft pitted medjool dates
- 1/2 Cup pure cacao powder or coco powder
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon of water - optionalINSTRUCTIONS
- place walnuts in a food processor and process for a few seconds until they form a coarse flour
- add the dates and cacao powder, cinnamon and cayenne pepper and process until moist (if mixture is stiff add a few drops of water)
- texture should be crumbly but moist, press the mixture into an 8X8 inch pan so that it forms a solid layer
- Top with cacao nibs or walnuts
