Ingredientes

  • 12 x Cactus Shoots
  • 2 x Clvs Garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 c. Onions (minced)
  • 1/2 c. Corn oil
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • 2 ounce Chili pwdr (mild)
  • 1 1/2 c. Water (hot)

Direcciones

  1. With a paring knife, scrape cactus shoots on both flat sides. Cut into small squares and wash well.
  2. In a deep pan boil cactus till cooked tender. Drain and set aside. Pour 1/2 c. of corn oil into empty rinsed pan and heat. Add in minced onions and minced garlic. Saute/fry for 10 min, then remove from heat and let rest for 10 min. Now add in flour, water, and chili pwdr. Return to medium/low heat and stirring constantly, cook till sauce is medium thick.
  3. Add in the cooked cactus and simmer for an additional 15 min.
  4. Delicious as a side dish for beef, poultry or possibly fish.
