Ingredientes

  • 1/4 c. Shortening
  • 1/4 c. Lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. Molasses
  • 1 x Egg
  • 1 1/2 c. Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Ginger, grnd
  • 1/4 tsp Cloves
  • 3/4 c. Boiling water

Direcciones

  1. Cream shortening and sugar together till light and fluffy. Beat in molasses and egg. Combine flour, salt baking soda, spices.
  2. Stir dry ingredients gently into creamed mix alternately with boiling water till just mixed, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  3. Spoon batter into a lightly greased 8x4 inch or possibly 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  4. Bake in 350 F oven 40-45 min (check - could be less for larger pan)
  5. till tester inserted in center comes out clean.
  6. Cold in pan 10 minutes, remove and cold completely. Wrap tightly to store.
