Spices - 1 stick cinnamon, 1 star anize and 3 cloves

Curry paste

1 tbsp plain chilli powder (or 10 dried red chillies)

2 fresh red chillies

1/2 inch fresh turmeric (can also use turmeric powder)

5 garlic

1/2 inch lengkuas/galangal

1/2 inch roasted belacan/shrimp paste

1 tsp black pepper seeds

blend/process all together for a thick paste
