Receta Oatmeal: like or dislike?
by Lydia (The Perfect Pantry)

Welcome to Like or Dislike, where you get to share how you really feel about ingredients from the pantry, ingredients I'm thinking about adding to my pantry, other seasonal foods, and favorite cooking gear. The things you like are sure to find their way to the recipes here on The Perfect Pantry, so do tell.

My love affair with oatmeal begins and ends with oatmeal raisin cookies. I love them more than chocolate chips, more than Snickerdoodles, more than Oreos, and I even love baking them, but that's where it ends for me and oatmeal. There is something about the aroma of cooking oatmeal that just doesn't sit well with me, and I've never been able to get past that. I've prepared oatmeal in the slow cooker, and when Cousin Martin comes to visit, I always have oatmeal in the house so he can make his favorite breakfast. My husband Ted likes it, too, but doesn't make it very often, perhaps because I walk around the house with my face scrunched up and, okay, yes, making a comment here and there. How do you feel about oatmeal?
