Receta OATMEAL TREATS
Posted on October 23, 2011 by The Southern Lady
These cookies are one of Southern Lady’s favorites. This is an Amish recipe from a cookbook that is at least 30 years old. I make these cookies often because my 4 year old grandson just loves them!
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (I use crunchy)
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 cups quick uncooked oats
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Beat margarine, peanut butter and sugars together until creamy. Blend in eggs, milk, and vanilla. Add flour, soda, and salt to the creamed mixture. Blend well. Stir in oats and chocolate chips. Drop by spoonsfuls (I roll mine into balls with my hands about the size of a walnut and place the ball unmashed) onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees about 15 minutes. (I like the tops brown, so I usually turn on the broiler for about two minutes before taking out of the oven). Makes about 3 dozen cookies. Enjoy! They won’t last long!
