Receta Organic Homemade Yogurt
Easy. Unbelievably easy. I have included the names and pictures of the starter items i used for my batch. which were purchased at Whole foods. Please note that when wanting to make a new batch save some of the current batch and just buy the milk half and half and heavy whipping cream. dont use new yogurt. the flavor will improve after every batch. You can use low fat versions as well. please comment if you try this I would love to know how yours turns out! or rate me and my easy recipe. thanks!!
Ingredientes
- 1 gallon of Organic Milk of Choice
- 1 Quart of Organic Half and Half
- 1 Quart of Organic Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 Pint of Organic Yogurt with active cultures.

- Combine Milk, Half and Half, and Heavy Whipping Cream.
- Place in Pressure Cooker. (I use it because it has a rubber sealer on the inside and it helps keep smells and foreign fridge flavors out. not to mention keeps it colder than plastic containers.)
- Bring to a slow rolling boil on med/high heat stirring constantly.
- Once it boils lower to lowest heat setting and stir till it's not boiling.
- Let cook for thirty minutes on low heat stirring occasionally.
- Turn off and let temperature come down until pinky finger can tolerate the heat. ( not luke warm but not scalding or it will kill active cultures)
- add the yogurt stir a couple of times and cover.
- Wrap some towels around the pot/slow cooker to keep it warm and place in a warm area.
- I place mine in the oven over night. can also be placed in microwave or inside a cabinet where it wont be disturbed or shaken.
- after 6-8 hours place some napkins gently on the inside of the yogurt to absorb excess water/liquid (brine) and replace every other day if not daily.
- This will give it a greek yogurt texture. it will help keep it thicker and dryer not like regular yogurt that is in a more liquid form.
