Receta Pan Fried Pork Loin Chops with Dijon Honey Sauce - Easy or Difficult? You Decide
by Brent Garell

What are your thoughts when you see this pork dish (if you find it appetizing)? Is it a dish you would only consider making for special occasions? Do you think it would require extra effort to prepare?

That’s what I used to think when I saw pictures (much better than mine) of meat dishes covered in a sauce made from scratch. Here's the thing...

I made this pork dish during the week when I was slammed for time.

You may have different thoughts.

To give you a full picture of what it takes to make this dish I've listed the steps and included the approximate time it took for me to do each step.

• Trim fat from 3 pork loin chops and season with salt and pepper (2 minutes)

• Melt butter and oil in skillet (1 minute)

• Fry pork (2 minutes per side = 4 minutes)

• Remove pork, add vegetable broth and scrape up brown bits (30 seconds)

• Stir in cider vinegar, honey, Dijon honey mustard, salt, pepper (30 seconds)

• Whisk sauce together (10 seconds)

• Let sauce cook and reduce (2 minutes)

• Plate (30 seconds)

TOTAL TIME – 10 minutes and 40 seconds. We'll round up and call it 11.

If you want some visuals, here’s a video I posted on YouTube on how to make the sauce.

With side dishes (I went with steamed broccoli and microwaved frozen corn) this good looking meal can be on the table in about 15 minutes.

What do you think? Sound easy enough?

Pan Fried Pork Loin Chops with Dijon Honey Sauce

Time it takes: 10 to 15 minutes

Using a knife, trim excess fat off each pork loin chop. Lightly season both sides of each pork chop with salt and pepper.

In a 10" skillet, heat butter and oil over medium high heat. When butter is melted add pork chops. Cook until pork chops are browned on one side, about 2 minutes. Turn over pork chops and cook the other side until browned, about 2 minutes. Remove pork from skillet and set aside on a wire rack.

Return skillet to heat. Carefully pour in vegetable broth. Cook and stir with a wooden spoon or spatula to scrape up brown bits from the bottom of the skillet. Add honey, vinegar, honey mustard, salt and pepper. Whisk until combined. Bring sauce to a gentle boil. Reduce heat to medium low, and let cook until sauce slightly thickens, about 2 minutes.

Plate pork and pour sauce over top.
