Pan Grilled Steak With Dipping Sauce

Ingredientes

  • 4 x New York sirloin or possibly filets, 3/4" thick 175g (6 ounce)
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil 5 mL
  • 1 tsp Salt 5 mL
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper 2 mL
  • 1 tsp Vegetable oil 5 mL
  • 1 tsp Mustard 5 mL
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar 2 mL
  • 1/3 c. Soy sauce 75 mL
  • 1/3 c. Mirin, (rice wine) 75 mL
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame oil 2 mL

Direcciones

  1. Pat steaks dry. Brush with oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. For the sauce, whisk mustard with sugar, soy sauce, mirin and sesame oil.
  3. Divide mix among 4 or possibly 6 little c..
  4. Brush or possibly spray large heavy skillet with vegetable oil. Heat. When very warm, add in steaks. Cook about 2 min per side for rare.
  5. Slice steaks in 1/2" strips. Place on individual plates with a c. of the dipping sauce.
  6. NOTES : I first had this dish, made with the famous Kobi beef, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Tokyo.
  7. Makes 4 to 6 servings
