Ingredientes

  • 5 c. day old bread
  • 1/2 c. espresso
  • 3 c. half-and-half
  • 5 x Large eggs
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 c. raisins
  • 1/3 c. pecans
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 3/4 ounce sugar
  • 2 ounce water
  • 6 ounce heavy cream
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Butter a 2-qt baking dish.
  2. Place day old bread in a shallow bowl. Pour espresso into half-and-half. Pour mix over bread and allow to soak for 1 hour. Beat Large eggs. Add in sugar and mix well. Add in nutmeg and vanilla extract; mix well. Pour mix over bread. Add in raisins and pecans. Dot with 2 Tbsp. butter. Bake 45 to 60 min.
  3. Serve with Caramel Sauce or possibly whipped cream
  4. Caramel Sauce: Combine sugar with water. Bring to boil. Stir till sugar is dissolved. Boil syrup while swirling pan till deep golden brown caramel. Remove from heat. Add in heavy cream (will bubble) slowly. Cook sauce over low heat stirring till smooth. Add in unsalted butter and stir till melted.
