Receta Papaya Rasam
Ingredients:
- Papaya – 1/2 cup, peeled, chopped
- Tomato – 1, chopped
- Dry Red Chillies – 3
- Rasam Powder – 1 tsp
- Peppercorns – 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
- Fenugreek Seeds – 1 tsp
- Asafoetida Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Curry Leaves – few
- Coriander Leaves – few
- Tamarind Extract – 2 cups
- Salt as per taste
- Toor Dal – 1 tsp
- Oil as required
Method:
1. Dry roast the red chillies, mustard seeds, cumin powder, fenugreek seed and curry leaves.
2. Remove and grind together.
3. Heat tamarind extract over medium flame in a pan.
4. Add papaya and tomato pieces.
5. Add the ground powder, rasam powder, salt, toor dal, turmeric powder and stir well.
6. Bring to a boil.
7. Heat little oil in a small frying pan.
8. Fry the mustard seeds and asafoetida powder.
9. Add to ther rasam and mix well.
10. Serve hot.
